Arlene M. Weissenstein (nee Knorr, Bevilacqua)

A devoted wife and amazing mother; Arlene, age 87, passed away peacefully at home in South Fayette on the morning of August 3rd, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Arlene was born on Pittsburgh’s South Side on July 16, 1935, the only child of the late Cyril and Gertrude Knorr. She graduated from St. Michael’s High School, where she was an accomplished thespian, starring in productions of The Song of Bernadette and Veronica’s Veil.

Arlene and her late first husband of nearly 25 years, Peter Bevilacqua, raised their family in Glenshaw, PA. Widowed at the age of 48, Arlene found love again, and enjoyed a beautiful marriage of 36 years to Donald Weissenstein, who survives her.

In addition to her first husband, Arlene is predeceased by two sons, David and Jamie Bevilacqua. Left to cherish her memory are son Gary (Megan) Bevilacqua and daughter Gina (Gary) Bishop. Also surviving are her grandchildren who she adored; Jacob, Sam (Jennifer), Joe (Bridget), Abby and Bo Bevilacqua, and Gabriel, Lucy and Jamie Lee Bishop.

Arlene was an avid reader who loved to travel and entertain. She was a woman of great faith who chose to find joy even through the sorrows she faced in her life. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at Resurrection Parish, St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Saturday, August 6th at 10AM, with visitation taking place one hour before Mass. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the church.
