Margaret M. “Peggy” Littman, 76, of Carbondale, PA, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Littman, on June 28, 1987.

Born March 11, 1946 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Ruth DeLoskey McDonald.

Peggy was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as a ward secretary at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale.

Peggy loved playing the lottery and picking her daily numbers. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and generosity to anyone in need and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children: Susan Nichols of Mount Laurel, NJ, Joseph Littman and wife, Dawn of Luzerne, PA, and Karen Tolerico and husband, Sar of Carbondale, PA; seven grandchildren: Trevi and Nico Nichols; Kyle, Brandon and Nicole Littman; and Karli and Taryn Tolerico; a sister: Sister Anne McDonald, IHM. of Dunmore, PA; two brothers: Thomas McDonald and wife, Laurie of Carbondale, PA and Joseph McDonald and wife, Stephanie of Carbondale, PA; two sisters-in-law: Barbara and Betty Ann McDonald both of Carbondale, PA; a brother-in-law: John Chrusciel of Carbondale, PA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Chrusciel; and three brothers: John “Jay”, James and Robert McDonald.

The funeral will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Viewing hours will be Friday, June 17, 2022 from 4-7 p.m.
