Florence Tanner Shebest passed into the presence of her Savior on September 8, 2015. She was 96.Florie was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Shebest, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Born and raised in Hatboro, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Sarah Crockett (Meredith) Tanner. Florie graduated from Hatboro High School, where she lettered in field hockey, band and orchestra. She worked for many years at Hatboro Hardware. She was active in the community as Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout leader, PTA president and Crooked Billet Garden Club member. In November, 1973, Florie trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and became part of the fellowship of Christians who meet in the Hatboro Gospel Hall. She was known affectionately as Aunt Florie. She is survived by her daughter, Christine (James) of Horsham, PA, her grandsons Aaron (Michelle) Shebest of Carlsbad, CA, Ryan (Tanya) Coleman of Hatboro, PA, and Russell (Jennifer) Coleman of Chalfont, PA, and daughter-in-law, Patricia Shebest of Moreno Valley, CA. She was G-Grammy to Sierra, Shane, Sawyer, Tanner, Browyn, Madelyn and Noah. In addition to her husband, Joe, she was predeceased by her son Gregory J. Shebest, brother William (Anne) Tanner, sister Rose (John) Fleer and sister Alice Tanner. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10 to 11 am, Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 in Hatboro Gospel Hall, 23 W. Moreland Ave, Hatboro, where her funeral service will be held at 11 am.
